'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 return date, news, spoilers: Camilla Luddington talks about what could be next for Jo; Meredith searches for Alex

Camilla Luddington's Jo is at the center of frenzy when "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 returns, and there might be a few more twists added to her storyline. Meanwhile, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) will be on the search for a missing Alex (Justin Chambers).

When "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 returns, Jo is still in fear of being found by her abusive husband that she ran away from a long time ago. Although Alex was willing to take the fall to keep Jo safe, it is still possible that her husband finds her because of the ongoing trial.

However, in an interview with TV Line, Luddington shared that the appearance of her MIA husband might not be anytime soon.

"I think it'll happen when things are going well between them (Alex) — because that's how 'Grey's Anatomy' works. They're in such a desperate situation right now, so I don't think it'll happen immediately. But maybe by the end of the season," the actress shared.

Another twist that might come in Alex and Jo's way is a pregnancy since Luddington is currently in her third trimester.

Although the show is keeping her baby bump still in the shadows, Luddington shared that showrunner Shonda Rhimes and her team can still change their minds over the course of season 13's second half.

"These things can get sprung on us at a table read, so I really can't say for sure if it will stay that way," Luddington explained.

The actress added that Alex's fate will be revealed in episode 11 titled "Jukebox Hero."

The synopsis from ABC reads, "Richard (James Pickens Jr.) and the attendings set out to make Eliza's (Marika Dominczyk) first day at Grey Sloan a bumpy one. Meanwhile, Meredith tries to track down Alex," as confirmed by Moviefone.

It appears Alex will be missing and no one knows where he's gone. It is unknown if he already went to jail or if he disappeared on his own.

"Grey's Anatomy" returns on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
