Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) won't be the only Grey-Sloan doctor who will be heading to jail when "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 returns next year.

Although Alex may still be placed behind bars after his assault on DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti), one of his colleagues will also be having her own share of jail time when the series moves forward. The midseason picks up exactly where the winter finale left off, and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) gets assigned to an unusual case that requires her to tend to an inmate.

In an interview with TV Guide, Capshaw hinted why her character will be spending some time in prison. "Arizona's been called in on a case at a maximum security prison for an inmate who can't go to a regular hospital because she's that dangerous," the actress said. The episode will see Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Jo (Camilla Luddington) help Arizona deal with the patient, who might be more dangerous than they initially expected.

"After the longest day of all of their lives, they all go to a maximum security prison, where they are meant to do something that seems like a pretty simple procedure," Capshaw added. "It's truly kind of creepy at the same time as it's super provocative and exciting," she went on to say.

Further details about the anticipated midseason premiere are still being kept under wraps, but spoiler reports noted that Capshaw and her co-stars felt "terrified" when they did the table read. "Grey's Anatomy" has already featured several cases before, but the upcoming premiere will certainly be different. As of now, the actors are keeping quiet about what the female prisoner might do or what is wrong with her. If one thing's for sure, something bad will happen when Arizona, Bailey, and Jo tend to an inmate patient.

The 13th season of "Grey's Anatomy" returns to the small screen on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
