'Grimm' season 6 release date: Fans want Netflix to pick up series
It appears that fans are not ready to part ways with Nick (David Giuntoli) and the gang yet as a petition for Netflix to pick up the show after "Grimm" season 6 has been filed online.
Rebecca Kay from the United Kingdom started the online petition at Change.org, arguing that the "gripping and fascinating drama" has met an untimely end. At the time of writing, 3,695 fans have shown their support.
"The majority of the fans feel, that the story cannot end yet, that there is so much more potential and that it would be a wasted opportunity," the petitioner wrote in urging fans to make sure "Grimm" season 6 won't be the end.
Needless to say, Netflix has to consider tons of factors in picking up a show. Although it has history of bringing shows back to life, it also disproved some.
When A&E canceled "Longmire," the streaming company saved it. This was not the case for the recently canceled "Agent Carter," which despite the demand of fans, was rejected by Netflix.
It is impossible to figure out if "Grimm" has the chances of getting picked up, but it appears that the cast of the show is happy with how things will end in season 6.
Hot on the heels of the cancellation announcement, Bitsie Tulloch promised an epic ending for the adventures of the gang in Portland.
"While we're sad to announce the 6th season will be our last, we're thrilled to be going out with a bang," the actress, who plays the role of Juliette/Eve, tweeted.
Claire Coffee, who fans came to know in "Grimm" as Adalind, said, "Well, if I have to end the ride of a lifetime with the most wonderful crew in the biz, it's good to know I'll be doing it with a bang." She described "Grimm" season 6 as the "most absolutely epic season yet."
"Grimm" season 6 will premiere Friday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
