The "Grimm" season 5 finale was a lot to take in, but it will pave the way for the events that will unfold in the next season. Bitsie Tulloch, who played Eve/Juliette Silverton, revealed on Twitter last week that the show's writers have started penning the next part in the story.

"Wish the @GrimmWriters some luck! Today 1st day back for @NBCGrimm Season 6!" Tulloch wrote.

Another cast member of the police procedural series, David Giuntoli, who plays Nick Burkhardt, had also shared a few weeks back that the scenes for the upcoming "Grimm" season 6 were yet to be shot.

It means it may be too early to say which direction the show will be taking its fans, but if the last season is any indication, things may tend to be on the darker side of the picture.

With this in mind, fans may be wondering whether Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz) will be the villain moving forward. Giuntoli may have said as much when he was asked whether the Black Claw will be showing itself again in the new season.

"Oh, that group is so done. They're not gonna come for me again; I killed like 30 people that tried to get me. Now it's Renard versus Nick. I think," he told Entertainment Weekly.

When the matter of Captain Renard becoming a good guy and reuniting with their old gang was brought up, the actor pointed out that the former had not been under any spell when he connived with the Black Claw, so whatever he did was with the intention of gaining power for himself.

"I think Renard just wants power right now. So, I think it'd be hard for him to come back to the gang, but anything can happen on Grimm."

With Renard now Mayor and Conrad Bonaparte (Shaun Toub) out of the way, the former becoming villain can very well turn out to be true. It only makes the possibility even greater now that he has reunited with his daughter Diana. With her potential powers, there may be no stopping Renard from turning to the dark side.

Giuntoli also shared what he hoped Burkhardt would have on his plate come season 6.

The 35-year-old "Grimm" veteran said he would like less attention on evil groups this upcoming season and more focus on the main characters and what was going on in their lives. He welcomed the possibility of Silverton coming back, even though it seems Burkhardt is all settled down with Adalind Schade (Claire Coffee) and her child.

"Let Juliette come back and watch the fallout of that ... I don't think it's something that should just be glossed over."

"Grimm" season 6 returns in October on NBC.
