GTA 5 PC, PS4 and Xbox One Release Date Latest Update: Rockstar Games Officially Announces Nov. 18 Release
The massively popular Grand Theft Auto (GTA) V from Rockstar Games will soon be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users and later for Microsoft PC gamers.
In a recent announcement, Rockstar Newswire said the game will be released on Nov. 18, 2014. It was earlier released on September 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360 users.
Sources say the version of the game for Microsoft PC will be made available starting Jan. 27, 2015.
GTA V will be the 15th instalment of the Grand Theft Auto series, which has been a huge success all over the world. The original version, which was designed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, was released on Sept. 17 last year.
According to Rockstar Games, GTA V will be "more immersive than ever" and "will feature a range of major visual and technical upgrades."
"In addition to increased draw distances and higher resolution, players can expect a range of additions and improvements including: new weapons, vehicles and activities, additional wildlife, denser traffic, new foliage system, enhanced damage and weather effects, and much more," the game developer's official statement says.
GTA V takes you to the city of Los Santos and its surrounding hills, countryside and beaches in "the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created," Rockstar Games says.
It features three playable protagonists namely Trevor, Michael and Franklin. Main characters also include Ron Jaworski, Trevor's friend; Amanda De Santa, Michael's wife, Jimmy De Santa and Tracey de Santa, Michael's children; and Lamar Davis, Franklin's friend.
GTA V was one of the most popular games in 2013, scoring 96 and above on GameRankings and MetaCritic. The game earned US$800 million on its first day alone and made US$1 billion within three days.
Rockstar Games has sweetened the release with an added bonus to gamers who pre-order GTA V. By November, those who have made pre-orders will have $1,000,000 in-game bonus cash waiting for them. Those on Grand TheftAuto Online will have "GTA$500K each for your Story Mode and for your GTA Online in-game bank accounts," the developer says.
"A host of new, exclusive content also awaits players returning from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, including rare versions of classic vehicles to collect from across the Grand Theft Auto series such as the Dukes, the Dodo Seaplane and a faster, more maneuverable Blimp," Rockstar Games says.
Enhancements for GTA Online also include an increased player count. Gamers can also make transfers of their existing character info and progress into their choice of gaming console.
