'GTA 6' release date rumors: 'GTA 5' sequel is not a core Rockstar's focus right now
Although Rockstar Games continues to expand the online mode of "Grand Theft Auto V"(commonly referred to as "GTA 5"), fans are already looking forward to the arrival of "GTA 6."
Unfortunately, it looks like there will be a long way to go before the sequel sees the light of day. Rumor has it that it will not be out and about until 2020.
The developer's focus is currently on "Red Dead Redemption 2," and while Rockstar has a separate division working on the western shooter and another one for the "GTA" installments, the developer is not expected to eclipse its game with another.
The new "Red Dead Redemption" game will be Rockstar's focus up to fall 2017 when it releases. An online mode is also expected for the game so this will also take time.
Additionally, a tipster from the GTA Forums claims that more expansions coming to "GTA 5" will take most of Rockstar's time, thus pushing the "GTA 6" release. As per the insider, who accurately predicted the release of the Bikers downloadable content (DLC), there are a bunch of expansions coming to the game.
This tipster claims that "GTA 6" will come out 2020 "at the very earliest." This is because two of the several upcoming "GTA 5" DLCs will be as big as a full game, which will definitely take time to put together.
The first one is North Yankton and Liberty City reportedly releasing September next year. The second massive DLC will be San Fierro and Las Ventures, which will arrive October 2018.
"GTA 6" will also reportedly feature a visually upgraded version of Vice City, the central location in the 2002 game, "GTA: Vice City," which is loved by many fans.
Fans are also excited about the prospect of 4K resolution and virtual reality being integrated to the next iteration of "GTA" as it will open tons of possibilities for Rockstar to expand "GTA 6" in exciting ways.
