'GTA 6' release date news: 'GTA 5' sequel not coming until 2020?
"Grand Theft Auto 6" is not coming anytime soon with Rockstar Games still busy with "GTA 5" particularly the game's online mode.
More downloadable content (DLC) are expected to be released for the current iteration including a couple of online map expansions the size of a full game.
This is according to a user on the GTA Forums who correctly predicted the release of the "Bikers" DLC. As per the tipster, "GTA 6" will not be released until 2020 "at the very earliest."
The first one is set for release late next year while the other, which is also believed to be the final DLC before "GTA 6," is expected to be rolled out in fall 2018. Two years after that, the new "GTA" should be available, at least according to the tipster.
He also hinted that Vice City, which was the setting for the 2002 installment for the game, will be featured in "GTA 6" as one of the locations, if not the central one.
Interestingly, TechRadar has reported March this year that the next "GTA" installment is already in development. No setting was agreed upon around that time though.
There are rumors that London could be the backdrop of "GTA 6" but Rockstar has already said that the location is better off for an entirely different game rather than the open world action-adventure video game.
There is no word about "GTA 6" at the moment other than the fact that it is expected to be much larger in scale compared to its predecessor.
Unfortunately, if the GTA Forums tipster is to be believed, fans might not see it in the next couple of years, but the purported "GTA 5" DLCs should keep fans occupied.
Rumor has it that Rockstar is looking to release a single-player DLC for the game next.
