'GTA 6' release date rumors: Sixth installment to come out in 2018 for Xbox Two and PlayStation 5?
The rumored sixth installment of the "Grand Theft Auto" series has been a favorite subject of discussions all over the internet these days. Despite the silence of game developer Rockstar Games with regard to its development and release date, fans of the franchise along with industry experts have continued to share their predictions and theories about the upcoming title.
There have been speculations suggesting that "GTA 6" will arrive between 2018 and 2020. Many reports coming from several online tech publications based their predictions on the timeframe of the company's previous releases. Apparently, Rockstar Games has a five-year waiting period between games. The current installment of the open world action-adventure video game was released in 2013. If rumors prove to be true, the highly anticipated "GTA 6" will certainly arrive in 2018.
However, not all "GTA" sequels were released five years apart from each other. "GTA IV" was launched seven years after "GTA III" and according to some fans and critics, Rockstar Games along with its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, will release the sixth installment of the game in 2020. According to Neurogadget, there are speculations saying that the company will follow the release gap between "GTA III" and "GTA IV" on the next release.
Meanwhile, there are also reports suggesting that the much-awaited game will be released on Sony and Microsoft's next generation gaming console. There have been rumors online saying that Sony is planning to release PlayStation 5 in the near future. On the other hand, Microsoft has also been reported to release the upcoming Xbox Two between 2017 and 2019.
Although nothing has been set on stone yet, the idea will certainly give excitement to the millions of "GTA" fans all over the world.
As of the moment, fans are hoping that Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive will provide concrete details with regard to the rumored fifth sequel. Until then, all reports must be taken with a grain of salt.
