'GTA Online' Festive Surprise 2016 update, news: Holiday-themed clothing, new vehicles and discounted items now available

The holiday-themed update for "Grand Theft Auto Online" has been released by Rockstar Games. A few days before Christmas, the online multiplayer video game gains festive clothing and items, as well as new vehicles from Benny's Original Motor Works.

To help the residents of Los Santos get into the mood for the upcoming holiday festivities, Christmas sweaters, hats, masks and Santa outfits are now available in most clothing stores across the city. Those with more daring styles can also purchase bodysuits with illumination settings to glow, pulse or flash.

Meanwhile, a visit to Ammu-Nation will result in players getting their hands on the Firework Launcher. Players who manage to land in Santa's Nice List may also find this explosive weapon under their trees on Christmas Eve.

When it comes to vehicles, the Festival Surprise update introduces two: the Truffade Nero and the Nero Custom. The sleek and powerful Nero supercar can be customized based on the players' preferences. Rockstar also announced that more vehicles will be added this holiday season.

Aside from new content, "GTA Online" players can also expect a lot of rewards and discounts this holiday season. 

Rockstar is also offering a 25 percent discount on luxury vehicles, real estate and weapons until Jan. 2, 2017. Vehicles on sale include the Enus Super Diamond, Nagasaki Shotaro, Resprays and Neons. Air travel on the Buckingham Nimbus and Volatus are also discounted. Prices have been lowered for the Eclipse Towers Penthouses, Stilt Houses and High End Apartment Interiors. Meanwhile, weapons on sale include the Compact Grenade Launcher, Sweeper Shotgun, Mini SMG and Compact Rifle.

While players have more than enough to enjoy in the last few weeks of 2016, the icing on the top of the cake is that everyone who logs in to "GTA Online" on Jan. 2, 2017 will get to unlock the Bold Pinstripe Smoking Jacket and Pajamas.

"GTA Online" is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows PC.
