With still six months to go before official show time, director James Gunn has so far already offered two looks at the much anticipated Marvel sequel in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" with the release of the second teaser for the film.

Dropping a longer clip this time compared to the one they dropped almost two months ago, the video features the unusual band of extraterrestrial misfits led by Star-Lord (Chris Pratt). But while everyone seems to have a fair share of the spotlight mingled with some sneak peeks of new creatures to debut, Baby Groot arguably stole the spotlight with ample screen time and some, "I am Groot" dialog.

What is impressive is that the new teaser offers a lot of new footages different from its predecessor but still seemingly able to hold back in terms of the actual narrative. That being said, that does not mean that the video is just a random collage of movie scenes as it also teases how the team dynamic has evolved from the first movie to this new one. As an example, a sequence involving Drax's (Dave Bautista) hilarious reaction to Star-Lord's embarrassing moment while Gamora stifles a smile while she quietly observes hints of a more bonded squad. The newly released clip also offers a first look on Mantis (Pom Klementieff) who unconsciously reveals Star-Lord's "deepest darkest secret."

This echoes the recent sentiments made by cast member Sean Gunn — who also happens to be James' brother â€” when he was asked to talk about "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" during this year's Heroes & Villains Fan Fest.

"I've heard my brother say that the first movie was about creating a family the second movie is more about being a family and the struggle of maintaining that. I think that's spot on and I hope that's what resonates with people," said the actor who plays Kraglin, one of Yondu's (Michael Rooker) Ravagers. He also stood in for Rocket, who is voiced by Bradley Cooper during filming. He further said, "It's a tentpole movie, meaning it's literally for everyone. It's not just a kids' movie disguised as an adult movie or vice versa. I really think it's for all ages. I really do think it has a heart but it's a comedy, as well."

While family being a central theme in the next Marvel Cinematic Universe offering is applicable to the group consisting of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Baby Groot, it could also pertain to Star-Lord/Peter Quill's supposed reunion with his father, Ego (Kurt Russel). It can be remembered that it was revealed in this year's Marvel panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, that the living planet is indeed the dancing superhero's dad piquing the interest of fans about how this came to be.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is set to debut in cinemas on May 5.
