"Halo 5: Guardians" will be receiving new downloadable content (DLC) within the next few days, 343 Industries has revealed. While the game developer is still preparing for the upcoming DLC, a sneak peek of what's to come was recently made known.

"At long last I'm happy to say that the time is nearly upon us and the launch is imminent," said Brian Jarrard, "Halo" community manage for 343, in a recent blog post.

With the release of the new DLC, a new REQ pack called "Voices of War" will be made available to "Halo 5" players. There will be three new announcers: Spartan Buck, Yabda the Merciless and O31 Exuberant Witness. They will be available during Warzone, Warzone Firefight and Arena multiplayer matches. However, this particular REQ pack will be a paid update and will be unlocked for $9.99.

Nevertheless, 343 will also be dishing out tons of free content. Even though specific details have yet to be revealed, there will be a lot of new features as well as additional REQs including the Reach Grenade Launcher. Furthermore, a massive expansion to Forge can also be expected.

Back in September, 343 studio head for game development Josh Holmes already hinted at the new features for Forge like the ability to join live custom games.

"In a future update for both PC and console, we will be expanding the existing Content Browser to allow players to search for and join custom games in progress. This will make it easier for players to sample the amazing content being created by our community and to find new players to match up with in multiplayer," he said.

A teaser for the upcoming DLC was also revealed back in November.

Since the release of "Halo 5" back in October 2015, 343 has released nine free expansions including Battle of Shadow and Light, Ghosts of Meridian, Memories of Reach, How Wild, and Warzone Firefight. The latest expansion, Anvil's Legacy, arrived last September.

More details regarding the forthcoming DLC will be released on Halo Waypoint on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

"Halo 5" is available for the Xbox One and Microsoft Windows PC.
