Halo 5 Release Date: New Game Slated for Q4 2015 But Exact Date Still a Mystery
Although an exact release date is yet to be announced, it has been confirmed that there will be a release in the fourth quarter of 2015 for Halo 5: The Guardians. The release was confirmed by Bonnie Ross of 343 Industries in a blog post last May 2014. This upcoming game will be published by Microsoft Studios and developed by 343 Industries.
Halo 5: The Guardians will be exclusively released for Xbox One users, at 60 frames per second.
Ross said that the "Xbox One allows 343 Industries to broaden the game's scope and utilize the console's dedicated servers", which explains the departure from from the Xbox 360 platform.
Frank O'Connor, franchise development director for Halo said that the previous game version, Halo 4, "pushed its game engine to the limit", which made it necessary to switch the platform to Xbox One.
The premise of the game reads, "In the far reaches of space, Mendicant Bias, an ancient forerunner AI and the leader of the Guardians awakens from his slumber. Meanwhile, Agent Locke and The Arbiter were tasked to find John 117 while he's gone missing in the Ark."
The Beta testing for the game will begin this coming December and will run until January 2015.
Meanwhile, a television series directed by award-winning director Steven Spielberg is also being filmed, which is reportedly entitled Halo. It will air in 2015 in concurrence with Halo 5's launch. Showtime will be airing the series that is expected to become a big hit.
