'Halo Wars 1 Remaster' release date news: launch date on Dec. 20; 'Halo Wars 2' on Feb. 21
343 Industries executive producer Dan Ayoub graced The Game Awards 2016 to announce that "Halo Wars 1 Definitive Edition," also known as "Halo Wars 1 Remaster," will be launched this month.
Originally launched in 2009, the remastered version of "Halo Wars 1" will enter the gaming world again, this time with a better graphical output. This will be the perfect time for players to enjoy the game while waiting for the release of "Halo Wars 2."
"Halo Wars 1 Definitive Edition" will roll out on Dec. 20. Xbox Wire wrote several instructions on how the get the game. Those who have preordered the "Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition" digital version will get the "Halo Wars: Definitive Edition." The pack also includes a four-day advanced access to the "Halo Wars 2."
Once the digital version of "Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition" is preordered, a 5x5 code will be sent to the player's Xbox message center. This will be used to install the "Halo Wars: Definitive Edition" on Dec. 20. Players should be reminded, however, that it may take 7 to 10 days before a player receives a code as they will be sent out in a gradual manner.
Another instruction is that if the digital version of "Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition" is purchased from a particular retailer, the code can be received via the player's Xbox account. Then, the "Halo Wars: Definitive Edition" code will be sent in the same manner as the above-mentioned instruction.
"Halo Wars 2," on the other hand, is set to be released on Feb. 21, 2017. A new trailer has already been released at The Games Award 2016, featuring the title's main antagonist, Atriox, who was able to own a powerful weapon in the "Halo" world.
CinemaBlend noticed that that game has a better plot setup as compared with "Halo 5: Guardians." The trailer was also able to show the objective of the game without revealing too much of the situation that Spirit of Fire is undergoing.
