As the hype for "Halo Wars 2" continues to increase, so do reports on the game and its possible release on different consoles.

Initially, the news was that the game was going to be released later this year — fourth quarter of 2016 to be exact.

However, recent reports might disappoint fans as some people familiar with the matter admitted that there is a chance the game will be out by the first quarter of 2017.

Initially, fans were happy with the news that "Halo Wars 2" will be playable as it will be featured at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 event by Microsoft.

The event, which is being held in California this week, features the top developers and games that should be available in the near future, and "Halo Wars 2" is definitely one of the titles that fans are eagerly awaiting.

In fact, there have been leaked screenshots of the game as shown here by GameSpot to even add to the fire of the game.

However, there have been new updates on the release of the game, with Neogaf user Gwyn revealing that he has seen new updates of the game before production.

In the post, he did say that the new campaign is looking really good aesthetically, but he shared that the new release date of the game is in February 2017.

Obviously, people would question why the delay, and Gwyn would go on to say that he got to preview the trailer and it said the release was on Feb. 21, 2017, this time giving an even more exact date.

On the flip side, he did reveal that there are two editions of the game, with one a deluxe edition that includes a season pass. He even shared the price to be at $80.

With E3 2016 starting today, expect more concrete updates on the game to surface really soon.
