'Hannibal' Season 3 Release Date, Plot Spoilers: NBC Releases First Trailer Video For New Season
Fans of "Hannibal" must have prayed so hard that their prayers have reached NBC, which released a trailer for the upcoming season of the cult thriller.
Though followers of the show still need to wait further until summer, they can finally get a little peak of what's coming in between Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter.
The trailer shows Graham, played by Hugh Dancy, obsessively hunting his friend-turned-foe Lecter, played by Mads Mikkelsen, around the world.
The chase somehow brought Graham and Lecter in Florence, Italy, a year after Hannibal escaped with Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier, portrayed by Gillian Anderson, in the final moments of the last season.
The third season of "Hannibal" has been reported to mine elements from Thomas Harris' Hannibal novels including Hannibal Rising and Red Dragon, the Entertainment Weekly said.
Showrunner Bryan Fuller said the series will mash up elements from the books in a unique way that would reveal "a very different origin story for the good doctor."
The trailer came out a few days following the announcement that Tony Award-winning actress Nina Arianda will be reunited with her onstage co-star Dancy to be Graham's new wife, Molly.
NBC confirmed the actress of broadway hit "Venus in Fur" will play the recurring role, which can be first seen on "Hannibal" Season 3's eighth episode.
"Molly is strong, vibrant, and has helped Will overcome his past. Molly knows all that has gone before and doesn't care," the NBC announced, according to TVLine.
Earlier, David Tennant, the man known for being the 10th actor to play the iconic role of the British doctor in the TV series "Doctor Who," will reportedly join the NBC show.
The psychological thriller has received critical acclaim, with the performances of the lead actors and the visual style of the show being singled out by critics.
The 'Hannibal' Season 3 Release Date will arrive this summer, although a precise date has not yet been announced, so stay tuned for the latest updates.
