Blizzard Entertainment's online multiplayer battle arena, "Heroes of the Storm," is on a roll this week with a newly released patch update, a Nexus challenge, and several bonus items for "Overwatch" players.

First up, the new update adds new hero characters named Varian. According to Blizzard's patch notes, Varian is the missing ruler of Stormwind, known previously as Lo'Gosh. Varian is now the High King of the Alliance, whose actions will shape the destiny of Azeroth.

Varian's basic abilities include Lion's Fang, Parry, and Charge. His heroic abilities include Taunt, Collosus Smash, and Twin Blades of Fury. Players can see the full patch notes here.

Along with the patch update is the addition of the Nexus challenge in which a player should party up with a friend and gain rewards starting Nov. 15 up to Jan. 4, 2017. The games must, however, be completed in Ranked, Unranked Draft, Quick Match or Coop vs. A.I.

For those who completed 15 games or more, players will be rewarded with the Oni Genji Skin for "Overwatch" players. For those who complete 30 games or more, five "Heroes of the Storm" characters (Auriel, Greymane, Kerrigan, Li-Ming and Orochi) and a 30-day Stimpack (booster) will be rewarded to the players.

For those who have difficulty finding a friend to help them out, players can look for possible game partners in online communities and in-game chatrooms.

Aside from a new hero, the patch update also added a new brawl called "Blackheart's Revenge," with a description that reads, "Captain Blackheart has showed off in his ghost ship, Blackheart's Revenge, to blow the docks to smithereens! Attack Blackheart's ship to stop his assault and send him to a watery grave, or clear the path of enemies to defend him as he carries out his mission."

"Heroes of the Storm" is playable on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS.
