"House of Cards" is beefing up its season 5 cast list with two new actors.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms that "Murder One" alum Patricia Clarkson and "Royal Pains" grad Campbell Scott have joined Netflix's political drama in major roles. No details about Clarkson's and Scott's roles in "House of Cards" season 5 have been revealed, but THR reports that both newbies will be featured heavily in the upcoming season.

Clarkson, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in "Pieces of April" (2003), has been in a long list of television shows, including "Broad City," "Parks and Recreation," and "Wonderland." She won two Emmys for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her participation in "Six Feet Under." Clarkson's film credits include "The Green Mile" (1999), "The Maze Runner" (2014) and "Shutter Island" (2010).

Scott is best known for his role as Boris Kuester von Jurgens-Ratenicz on "Royal Pains." He was recently in "Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll" and "The Blacklist." He also played the role of Richard Parker in the "Amazing Spider-Man" films and was in "Music and Lyrics" (2007) and "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" (2005).

Meanwhile, "House of Cards" alum Mahershala Ali has confirmed that his character, former White House Chief of Staff Remy Danton, is not coming back to the Netflix drama. Ali played the role of Remy between seasons 1 and 4. In the fourth season, Remy decided to step away from politics for good.

In an interview with The Independent, Ali talked about what his post-"House of Cards" career looks like, saying, "I think 'House of Cards' has opened [my career] up for me."

"I just did my last season of 'House of Cards,' I'm no longer on the show, and because of our conversations and being able to contractually move out of that series, I've been able to take advantage of other opportunities and get a sense of what was available for me out there," he explained.

Ali currently stars as Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes in Netflix's "Luke Cage."

"House of Cards" season 5 will premiere on Netflix sometime in 2017.
