It appears the Houston Rockets have entered in the Rudy Gay sweepstakes as it is rumored that the Western Conference team is looking to add a two-way player in the line-up.

The Sacramento Kings forward has been linked with different teams throughout the summer, and the Rockets find themselves one of the many who wish to acquire Gay's services.

The Rockets reportedly inquired on Gay as it is still understood that the Kings are still looking for a possible place to offload some of their spendings.

Basketball Insiders reveal that Gay is due to earn $13.33 million in the coming year, and the Kings are trying to get him out of the roster in order to either get a few players to help transform their team to a playoff contender or use their money to ensure that DeMarcus Cousins stays.

Some also believe that the Kings are desperately trying to move Gay, and even if it will be a one-year rental, it will work out as the Kings will dump out some salary, while the other team will get a player who can contribute on both ends of the floor.

Despite being considered as someone who is generally overpaid, the reason behind Gay being given a good contract is that he is a great two-way player.

He is very reliable on the offensive end, averaging 18.4 points in his 12 seasons in the league so far.

Furthermore, he is also an excellent defender, using his length and speed in order to stop some of the best players in the game.

Averaging 1.3 steals each night throughout his career, Gay is excellent with or without the ball and is always an asset when playing on the floor.

With the number of teams interested in Gay growing, it may only be a matter of time to see whether the Kings will finally pull the trigger and see Gay leave Sacramento.
