'How to Get Away with Murder' season 3 spoilers: Frank Delfino not returning?
After a turbulent season 2 for Annalise Keating (Viola Davis), "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 is said to be even more appalling for the brilliant defense law professor. A new character will be joining the series who may or may not turn out to be her enemy. Also coming up is what is in store for Frank Delfino (Charlie Weber) after the shocking events in season 2.
The new character teased for the show's third run is the president of the university where Keating teaches, one who is said to be "self-assured, friendly and warm." He will, however, be after Keating for the "unorthodox" teaching style she uses with her students.
Even more surprising events will unfold for Keating and her select students.
Fans may recall that Keating received some staggering news during the season 2 finale. She found out that Delfino was responsible for the death of Lila Stangard (Megan West). But what was an even bigger blow to the charismatic attorney was that her loyal and discrete protector was the one who had arranged for the car crash that caused her to have a miscarriage some time back.
This disturbing turn of events brought up the possibility among the show's fans that Delfino may not be returning for the upcoming run of "How to Get Away with Murder." It was shown at the end of last season that Delfino had upped and left his apartment and nobody knew where he went.
Weber discounts this theory though, admitting that, as far as he knows, he is a regular member of the cast. It is therefore assumed that his appearance in season 3 is a shoo-in.
As to how things may stand in terms of his relationships with the team and especially with Keating, the actor told TVLine, "It'll be really interesting to see what happens in Season 3, to see how the show adapts and changes shape because of the realignment of certain relationships. But you know, it's not about Frank getting back on the team and going to court... He just wants things to be OK with Annalise."
Weber said though that, given all the things that transpired in the last season, the story could "go anywhere."
"How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 will return Sept. 22 on ABC.
