'How to Get Away with Murder' season 3 spoilers, updates: Wes tries to cope with father's death; Big season 3 mystery puzzles cast

Cast members and executive producer of "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 sure know how to build up excitement for the upcoming installment. Apparently, the third season will focus on a huge mystery that will leave everyone, cast included, bewildered.

Try as they may, not a single publication has been able to get anyone from the show to spill the beans. The only thing that showrunner Pete Nowalk said is that the mystery will be revealed from the get-go, right from the first episode of season 3, and that as the season progresses, the cast will have a hard time solving it.

Could the mystery have something to do with Wallace Mahoney's (Adam Arkin) murder? TV Insider surmises that the mystery could likewise delve on how Wes Gibbins (Alfred Enoch) copes with his distress after Mahoney, who turns out to be his biological father, was shot to death right before his very eyes.

During the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour, Enoch dished on his character, saying Gibbins will be showing a new side to his character when "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 returns. He even hinted that this new side of Gibbins will affect Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) in the process.

Meanwhile, Davis, who plays the main protagonist of the series, is once again nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series award at the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards. It will be telecast live on Sept. 18. Should Davis win, this will be her second Emmy award for the show.

Recently, she dished on a few details about the upcoming season, saying that her character, hotshot lawyer Annalise Keating, could be meeting a new love interest. She also said that while the so-called mystery will build up throughout the third season, it will be solved by the season 3 finale.

"How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 premieres on Sept. 22 on ABC.
