'How to Get Away With Murder season 4 premiere date, news, spoilers: Series to beyond Annalise's world; Laurel at the center of chaos in new season

The showrunner has opened the world of "How to Get Away With Murder" beyond Annalise's (Viola Davis) safe borders now that Laurel's (Karla Souza) powerful and wealthy father is involved. Meanwhile, Laurel will be going through a lot of family and personal issues in season 4.

When "How to Get Away With Murder" returns with season 4, the storyline will now expand from the Keating House and the small community where Hargrove University resides in, onto the corporate world of wealthy and powerful individuals such as Mr. Castillo (José Zúñiga).

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Pete Nowalk shared that he's excited that Mr. Castillo being Wes' (Alfred Enoch) murderer "opens this door to a whole new world that I have been excited to explore, something that takes us out of Annalise's little world and puts us into [the world of] this big powerful telecommunications czar and all the power that wields."

Also because of Mr. Castillo's involvement, Laurel will be going through a lot of tough moments in "How to Get Away With Murder" season 4.

Nowalk explained that although Laurel tried to stay out of her father's bad business, "He will not let her turn a blind eye."

He added that by the end of season 3, Laurel will also realize that her father will not let her go that easily. She had begun figuring out that nothing is a coincidence and that she will be realizing soon that her father was behind Wes' murder all along.

Aside from father issues, Laurel will also have to choose if she wants to become a mother to Wes' baby or not.

"What felt real to me is that she would put the decision off because not that much time has passed, and it's too huge. I think things could happen that would influence her decision one way or another," Nowalk said.

"How to Get Away With Murder" season 4 is expected to premiere this 2017.
