HP Elite X3 lands in U.S. for $799; includes desk dock
The HP Elite X3 has finally reached American soil. First announced back in February, the device is now up for pre-order in the U.S. Interested consumers from the country can now get the most powerful Windows 10 mobile powered smartphone with a price tag of $799, through HP's online store.
As detailed in a report by GSM Arena, the price is inclusive of the desk dock or the Microsoft's Continuum feature which allows users to effortlessly switch from a handheld to a desktop experience with external display, keyboard, and mouse. This particular feature can start a task on the go, and it can let users complete it at the desk without having the need to save, sync, or restart.
For its other specifications and features, it's detailed that the HP Elite X3 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of storage. It also sports a 5.96-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and Gorilla Glass 4 on top. The device also features a MicroSD card slot that can accommodate a 2 TB storage card.
Moreover, it comes with a 16-megpixel rear camera with an LED flash, 8-megapixel selfie camera, 4150mAh battery, and the Windows 10 Mobile as its operating system. It's also noted that HP Elite X3 buyers will be offered a discount of up to $40 on select Bose speakers. They can also get an all-in-one inkjet printer for just $29.99 if they purchase it along with the flagship device.
The handset is also packed with dual-SIM support and security features that are specifically designed for business. It has an iris scanner and fingerprint reader, and it also features wireless charging.
The device also has Cortana, Microsoft's own version of a virtual assistant which assists users with their daily activities such as making reservations, finding things online, remembering appointments, and more.
According to a report, buyers can pre-order via credit card. But it's noted that the card will not be charged until the order is shipped. A temporary charge will only appear to mark the pre-order, but until it is in the hands of the owner, it will not be charged.
