HTC Desire 10 release date, news, specs rumors: HTC to release own flagship phone next week instead of Google's Pixel smartphone
Just recently, HTC made a special announcement regarding a huge press event on Tuesday, Sept. 20. The huge electronics company, also behind the creation of the well-known Google Nexus smartphones, has teased that a new smartphone model will be launched in next week's event.
Many tech enthusiasts believe that the announcement may be for the 2016 Google Nexus handsets, or now known as the Nexus Pixel. However, HTC may instead use the event to unveil their own line of smartphone, which is none other than the HTC Desire 10.
HTC will be the partner of Google in the creation of this year's Google Nexus smartphones. At the same time, the company has been busy developing a new smartphone flagship of their own. While there are no confirmed reports at this point about the release of Nexus and HTC's own smartphone model this year, it is unlikely that the Sept. 20 event will showcase the Nexus Pixel, Tech Radar reported.
If anything, Google will be the first one to announce the arrival of the Nexus Pixel and not HTC. Supposedly, the new Google smartphones will be keeping the "Nexus" label, but recent reports now suggest that the name "Pixel" will be used to refer to these upcoming Google handsets. With this, the public can expect the HTC Desire 10 instead for next week.
According to GSM Arena., the HTC Desire 10 will be a mid-range smartphone upon its release. Similar to the flagship models by other companies, Desire 10 will be released in two variants. The first variant or the high-end type will be the so-called "Pro" model, while the lower variant or base type will be the "LifeStyle" model. These two will have 5.5-inch screen display, 3GB RAM and 13 MP main camera. One of their differences is the 1080p resolution sported by the high-tier variant, while the lower variant will be at 720p.
