HTC has officially announced the release of Desire 620—a dual SIM smartphone—in Taiwan, HTC's home country. It comes with mid-range specifications because it is targeted for the mid-range smartphone users.

The smartphone has two versions—the 620 and the 620G. The former features an LTE connectivity and a 1.2 GHz 64-bit quad core Snapdragon 410 processors while the latter features a 1.3 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor, but does not support LTE connectivity.

Aside from the aforementioned differences, the two versions have the same set of features, such as dual SIM capabilities, 5 MP front camera, 8 MB rear camera, 1 GB RAM, 5-inch display (720 x 1280 pixels), 8 GB internal storage and a 2,100 mAh battery capacity. They also sport HTC's signature front facing speakers, which users have highly commended.

Both phones run an Android 4.4 Kitkat, but the overall performance from the two phones are expected to be different, given that they are equipped with two different processors.

The Desire 620 is to go on sale exclusively in Taiwan starting on Dec.1. It is expected to be available in the U.S. and other parts of the world by mid-December. HTC, however, has not announced about its international availability.

With the difference in specifications, HTC decided to price them differently. The Desire 620, which has a Snapdragon processor, will cost $225 while the Desire 620G with the MediaTek processor will be for sale at $160.
