The HTC One (M8) is often billed as one of the most beautiful phones of 2014, but it looks like the new Mi Note from Xiaomi could take over that title this year as the company has become the world's third largest smartphone manufacturer.
Design
The One (M8) has beautiful design and comes with a unibody aluminum frame with a brushed finish and rounded edges. The Mi Note also has a premium look to it with its solid metal frame and Gorilla Glass 3 that is slightly curved on its front and back panels.
Display
In terms of display the One (M8) has a Super LCD3 screen measuring 5.0 inches with a resolution of1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 441 pixels per inch. The Mi Note has a bigger 5.7- inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 386 pixels per inch. As for their screen to body ratio, the Mi Note has 74.4 percent while the One (M8) has 66.7 percent.
Specs
The One (M8) has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801chipset, coupled with a quad-core 2.3 GHz CPU in the U.S. and EMEA and a 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU in Asia and China, along with an Adreno 330 GPU. The Mi Note has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801chipset, quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU.
Memory
As for memory card slots, the One (M8) has a slot which can be used to add external storage of up to 128 GB. The Mi Note does not have this feature. In terms of RAM, the Mi Note has 3GB while the One (M8) has 2 GB.
Camera
The main camera on the One (M8) is a 4 ultrapixel camera with dual lens, while the Mi Note has a 13 megapixel version.
Price
The 16GB version of the Mi Note will cost around $377 without a contract when it is released. On the other hand, the One (M8) costs $199 with a two-year contract while its full retail price is $669.
