HTC One M9 Hima Release Date, Specs News: HTC Launching World's Fastest Smartphone

HTC

HTC fans will only have to hang on for a little bit as the mobile phone company is expected to release in a matter of months what has been described as the world's fastest smartphone yet.

The firm will also no longer use its "confusing M codenames," with its next flagship phone bearing the name "Hima," PC Advisor said. However, it remains to be seen if it will be "HTC Hima" or "HTC One Hima."

HTC is expected to release Hima in spring, weeks after the Mobile World Congress in the first week of March, alongside HTC One Wear -- the sign of HTC's entry to the wearable market. PC Advisor wrote that this release date has been confirmed as HTC already sent out invitations to a March 1 launch event.

"HTC has settled into a nice pattern of launching its flagship phone in the Spring, in the weeks after the MWC show. (It made no show at January's CES 2015), " explained PC Advisor. "Availability in the UK is likely to follow a couple of weeks later."

A Windows version of the phone is also expected to be launched in the middle of the year.

On the phone's specs, HTC Hima is reported to have a 5-inch 1080p Super LCD3 display and Snapdragon 810 chip. PC Advisor wrote that it will also be incredibly slim at 7 millimeters for an octocore phone with a large HD display.

It is said to have a 13-megapixel front camera and a 20.7-megapixel rear camera. HTC Hima is expected to perform with a 2840 -mAh battery and to run on Android 5.0 Lollipop with the new HTC Sense 7.0.

The smartphone is described by PC Advisor reviewers as faster than any phone they have evaluated.

"According to the database the HTC One M9 recorded 1,232 points in the single-core component, and 3,587 points in multicore. As you can see in our article What's the fastest smartphone in 2015, that makes the HTC One M9 faster than any smartphone we've ever reviewed."

According to an HTC source, HTC Hima will have a design closed to the Nexus 9. It will be available in Dark Gunmetal, Silver/Gold, Gold and Dark Gunmetal/Gold.

HTC Hima is expected to have a price tag between $755 and $906, based on the prices of previous top-end phones such as HTC One M7 and HTC One M8.

There have been reports about that another device, "Hima Ace" or "Hima Plus," but this might simply be another codename for HTC One M9 or it is a version of the new smartphone.
