HTC One M9 Release Date News: Leaked Case Shows Just One Camera Unlike Predecessor's Dual
A recent major leak on the upcoming flagship HTC smartphone showed that the One M9 will dump the dual cameras that were featured in its predecessor and instead have a single camera much like other smartphones. This particular leak came from Amazon where cases for the upcoming device were recently displayed from one particular manufacturer, TUDIA.
The HTC One M9, code-named "HIMA," is due for launching on March 1 before the start of M.W.C. 2015. A case manufacturer was also the source of a major leak about the Galaxy S6. But in the case of the One M9, the detailed specifications did not accompany the images on Amazon.
Over the past few months other leaks about the One M9 pointed towards the company finally ditching the parenthesis that was present in the name of its predecessor. The new name without the parenthesis was even posted on the company's website along with the promotional tagline "One Life."
As for the specs of the HTC One M9, recent rumors indicated that the phone will have 64-bit Snapdragon 810 chipset manufactured by Qualcomm. If true, it would mean that HTC was not put off by the reported overheating issues that Samsung had with the chipset. As for RAM, the HTC One M9 will have a 3GB version and an Andreno 430 GPU.
Upleaks also reported that HTC has decided to stick with the 5-inch IPS screen on the One M9. It will have the full-HD resolution which was present on its predecessor the HTC One (M8).
On the rumored single camera, it was said that HTC will include a 20.7 megapixel version at the rear of the One M9 along with a dual-LED flash. As for its front-facing camera, it is widely thought that the company will stick with Ultrapixel technology support for a 4-megapixel version.
