HTC One M9 vs Galaxy S5 Specs, Price Comparison: Features Review - Full-Metal One M9 Triumphs Over Samsung Phone
When comparing the recently launched HTC One M9 to last year's flagship smartphone from Samsung, the Galaxy S5, it is clear that the full-metal smartphone from HTC has a huge advantage in terms of design and specs.
Design
The One M9 has great design and comes with an aluminum body which is hand-polished to a fine shine. It also has a good range of body colors: silver and rose gold combination, gunmetal grey, amber gold and pink. As for the Galaxy S5, it has a plastic frame and body. Its rear panel has a faux leather feel to it and covered with dimples. As for colors, it comes in black, white, blue and copper editions.
Display
The HTC One M9 has the same display as the One M8, which is pretty close to that of the Galaxy S5. The One M9, however, has a slightly better density of 441 pixels per inch compared to the 432 pixels per inch on the Galaxy S5. However, both phones have a similar resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. As for their screen types, the Galaxy S5 has a super AMOLED screen measuring 5.1 inches, while the One M9 has a super LCD3 screen measuring 5 inches.
Specs
In terms of specs, the One M9 clearly outpaces its competitor as it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset coupled with a CPU with four 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 cores and four 2 GHz Cortex-A57 cores and an Adreno 430 GPU. The Galaxy S5 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801chipset, a quad-core Krait 400 clocked at 2.5 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU.
Memory
The memory slots on the One M9 and Galaxy S5 allow for the addition of up to 128 GB of external storage on both phones. Comparing their RAM, the Galaxy S5 has 2 GB while the One M9 has 3 GB.
Camera
The One M9 has a better 20-megapixel camera at its rear compared to the 16-megapixel version on the Galaxy s5.
Price
The full retail price of the One M9 could be around $649 while the Galaxy S5 costs $549 without a two-year contract.
