HTC One M9 vs Nexus 6 Specs Comparison: Features, Price Review - Nexus 6 Bigger But Trails M9 in Design
The HTC One M9 is already being billed as one of the most beautiful phones of 2015, but it will eventually have to compete with the much larger Nexus 6 to win the hearts and minds of potential customers.
Design
Design-wise, the One M9 has a clear edge over its rival as it is prettier, thanks to its hand-polished full aluminum body. It also comes in a range of lovely colors, including a combination of rose gold plus silver, gun metal grey, and gold and pink. As for the Nexus 6, it has a plastic body and two color choices: blue and white. It has a touch of metal in the form of a band that runs around its edge in addition to a faux metal back panel.
Display
The display of the Nexus 6 is humongous in the form of an AMOLED screen measuring 5.96 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 493 pixels per inch. Compared to this, the One M9 has a much smaller super LCD3 screen measuring 5.0 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 441 pixels per inch.
Specs
As the One M9 was released more recently, it has much better specs in the form of the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, a CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz and an Adreno 430 GPU. In the Nexus 6 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, coupled with a quad-core Krait 450 CPU clocked at 2.7 GHz and an Adreno 420 GPU.
Memory
A major disadvantage with the Nexus 6 is that it has no memory slot, while the One M9 has a version that allows for the addition of up to 128 GB of external storage. In terms of RAM, both have 3 GB.
Price
The Nexus 6 costs $249 with a two-year contract. Its full retail price is $682, while the HTC One M9 could cost around $649.
