The One Mini 2 is the budget smartphone offering from HTC. In many ways its looks like the One (M8), which is HTC's flagship device. But the recent budget phablet from the same company, the Desire 826, could turn out to be the more popular device when it is released worldwide.

Design

The One Mini 2 is completely different from its bigger sibling as it has a brushed metal body and a smooth back panel that is joined to its front with polycarbonate edges. It is also smaller and lighter than the HTC Desire 826, which is a true phablet. As for the body of the HTC Desire 826 it is made from plastic and its back panel is made of glossy plastic in a variety of colors and accents. There is also a matte plastic version called "Tuxedo Gray."

Display

The Desire 836 has a super LCD3 screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch. As for the One Mini 2, it has a super LCD2 screen measuring 4.5 inches with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a density of 326 pixels per inch.

Specs

The Desire 836 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset, coupled with quad Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz, quad Cortex-A53 cores clocked at1.0 GHz CPU and an Adreno 405 GPU. As for the One Mini 2, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset, Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU and Adreno 305 GPU.

Memory

Both devices come with memory slots which can be used to add external storage of up to 128 GB. However, when it comes to RAM, the One Mini 2 has 1 GB while the Desire 836 has 2 GB.

Price

The price of the Desire 826 could be around $480 upon release, while the One Mini 2 costs $409 without a contract.
