Huawei Honor 6X release date, specs: Dual rear camera, 5.5-inch display, fingerprint scanner

Huawei's sub-brand Honor released another device and it's called the Honor 6X. It's now available for pre-order in China but there is no announcement yet on whether it will be released in other countries as well.

According to reports, the Honor 6X will be shipped out beginning Oct. 25. With a starting price of $150, buyers get a mid-range device with decent and solid specs. Its highlight feature is the dual-camera setup at the rear, which is most often seen in high-end devices. The main camera is a 12-megapixel 6P lens with phase detection auto focus while the second one has a 2-megapixel sensor.

It's detailed that the second rear camera functions as a sensor used for depth sensing and software-enhanced background blur. In the device's front panel is an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. Aside from the cameras, the Honor 6X also features a fingerprint scanner found at the back.

It sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display with a 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood, one finds a new Kirin 655 SoC with octa-core CPU. There are three variants available for the model and this includes one with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage, one with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, and one with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.

The price of each is $150, $190 and $240 respectively. Its operating system is the Android 6.0 Marshmallow topped with Huawei's EMU 4.1 software. It comes with Marshmallow out of the box but the Nougat is most likely going to be available for it as well.

Moreover, the Honor 6X also supports dual-SIM functionality with a microSD slot. There is no confirmation yet if it is coming with a USB-C connector. It has an all-metal body and is powered with a 3,340 mAh battery with a fast charging feature.
