Huawei Honor 8 release date, price and specs news 2016: Smartphone to come out on July 19, carries impressive specs
Huawei Honor 8 has finally been announced by the Chinese tech manufacturer. The highly anticipated device has been a favorite subject of numerous rumors and speculations all over the internet for quite some time now. With its announcement, the device is said to compete with another handset from the company, which is the flagship, the Huawei P9.
According to a report by Android Police, there is not much difference between the upcoming Honor 8 and the current P9. However, the publication said that both devices differ on price and production quality.
The Huawei Honor 8 will arrive with a 5.2-inch screen with a 1920 x 1080 LTPS LCD. According to the report, the device will carry the same graphics technology of the P9, which is the Mali T880 GPU.
The handset is expected to come out in 3 variants – One variant will arrive with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage capacity, the other one will have 4 GB RAM but with a larger storage capacity at 64 GB, the entry level will get 3 GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 32 GB.
All variants are set to arrive with an octa-core Kirin 950 processor, which has a speed of 1.8GHz. The reports also suggest that the device will be released with a pre-installed Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with EMUI 4.1 on top.
Other features of the device include Wi-Fi connectivity, 4G LTE and Bluetooth. It will have a dual SIM support, USB Type-C connector and a fingerprint scanner.
Expected color variations are Sakura Pink, Sunrise Gold, Pear White, Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue.
The Huawei Honor 8 will be released in China on July 19 with a starting price of CNY1,999 or $298 if converted to U.S. dollars.
