Huawei P8 vs Samsung Galaxy S6 Specs Review: Price, Features Comparison - Bland Huawei P8 Losses in Style
With the Samsung Galaxy S6 grabbing headlines since it was released last month, Huawei is hoping that its recent flagship device the P8 will also fare well.
Design
The Huawei P8 is a premium device that has a bland aluminum unibody unlike the Galaxy S6. Its body has nano-coating, which makes it splash proof and resistant to most forms of damage. As for its frame, it has sharp chamfered edges and slim bezels.
The Galaxy S6 has bigger bezels than its competitor. It has a metal frame and Gorilla Glass 4 on its back panel. This gives the device a better look and feel even though many of its design elements, like its speakers along its base, are just like those of the iPhone 6.
Display
When it comes to display, the Huawei P8 is marginally bigger and comes with an IPS LCD touchscreen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 424 pixels per inch. As for the Galaxy S6, it is much superior in terms of quality. It has a Super AMOLED touchscreen measuring 5.1 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 577 pixels per inch.
Specs
In terms of specs, both devices seem similar on paper. However, there are no indications how fast the HiSilicon Kirin 930/935 processor is on the Huawei P8. It is coupled with a CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and a Mali-T628 MP4 GPU. As for the Galaxy S6, it has an Exynos 7420 chipset, a CPU with four cores Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz and a Mali-T760MP8 GPU.
Memory
A big advantage that the Huawei P8 has is in its memory slot which allows for the addition of 128 GB of external storage. The Galaxy S6 does not have one. In terms of RAM both devices have 3GB onboard.
Price
The 16 GB Huawei P8 costs $540 while the 32 GB Galaxy S6 costs $599 in its unlocked form and $199 with a two-year contract.
