Huawei Watch vs Moto 360 Specs, Design Comparison: Huawei Device Takes On Popular Moto 360

Huawei, a recent entrant in the smartwatch market, released a stunning device called Huawei Watch at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, Spain, on Sunday. It was soon described as a possible competitor to the Apple Watch. However, before it competes with the Apple smartwatch, the Huawei Watch will have to deal with the popular Moto 360.

Design

Both the Moto 360 and the Huawei Watch have a similar round watch face. Also, both their bodies are made from stainless steel. They both look very much like premium watches and less like smartwatches. As for colors, the Moto 360 comes with gold, silver and black versions. The same colors are also available for the Huawei Watch. In terms of straps, any 22mm strap can be swapped out and used with the Moto 360. As for the Huawei Watch, any 18mm and 22mm strap can be used. Both devices come with leather straps and alternate metal straps. The Moto 360 has polished metal while the Huawei 360 has metal mesh straps in black and white. As for their water and dust resistance capacity, the Moto 360 has a IP67 rating, which means it can remain safely submerged in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes.

Display

The Huawei Watch has a 1.4-inch circular AMOLED screen with a resolution of 400x400, a density of 286 pixels per inch and sapphire glass. As for the Moto 360, it has a 1.56-inch LCD display with a resolution of 320 x 290 pixels and a density of 205 pixels per inch with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Moto 360 has an empty black portion at the bottom of its screen which houses it ambient light sensor.

Specs

On the Moto 360 is a TI OMAP 3 chipset along with 512MB RAM and 4GB on board storage. The Huawei Watch has a Qualcomm APQ8026 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz along with 512MB RAM and 4GB storage. Both devices run Android Wear and have Bluetooth connectivity.

Sensors

On the Huawei Watch are a gyroscope, accelerometer, heart rate monitor, barometer, and vibration motor. The Moto 360 also has a heart rate monitor, a vibration motor and a nine-axis pedometer.

Price

The Moto 360 is priced at $250 while that of the Huawei Watch has not been released yet.
