'Hunter X Hunter' chapter 361 release date, latest news: Togashi to be replaced?

There have been no updates regarding chapter 361 of "Hunter X Hunter," and publishing company Shueisha might force its creator to hand over the Manga series' rights. Meanwhile, there are two speculated artists that might be taking over "Hunter X Hunter."

The last released chapter of "Hunter X Hunter" by creator Yoshihiro Togashi was chapter 360, which was only released this year after having a two-year hiatus since 2014. Since then, it appears that Togashi had gone on a hiatus again because there have been no updates about chapter 361's plot details and release date.

There are speculations that Togashi was given an ultimatum by Shueisha to create chapter 361. But, according to reports, the reason why Togashi has not been working on the next chapter of "Hunter X Hunter" is because of a severe health condition that hinders him from doing work.

It is anticipated that Togashi will not be able to meet the publishing company's ultimatum, and now, he is being forced to hand over his rights to the Manga series. This is because Shueisha wants to continue the publication of "Hunter X Hunter" even if the original creator is no longer on board.

Because of this, reports of the replacements for Togashi have spread around the Manga community.

There are speculations that Shueisha has chosen two artists to take over "Hunter X Hunter." They are Naoko Takeuchi, creator of "Sailor Moon" and wife to Togashi, and Sui Ishida, the creator of "Tokyo Ghoul."

Between the two, Takeuchi appears to be the better choice because of her relationship to the original creator of "Hunter X Hunter." It is expected that Takeuchi has a better understanding of where Togashi wants the storyline of the series to go.

Meanwhile, it seems that if Ishida will take over "Hunter X Hunter," the series might go on a darker theme. "Tokyo Ghoul" is known for its dark theme care of Ishida, and fans think that his style might not fit well with Togashi's "Hunter X Hunter."

"Hunter X Hunter" chapter 361 is expected to be released in February 2017.
