Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev reunion rumors: Ex-couple meet and have awkward table read?

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 is the last one for the series and some fans are still crossing their fingers that Damon and Elena will be reunited in the end. The characters, played by Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev respectively, ended up being apart from each other because Dobrev left the show.

But reports said that Dobrev is returning to the series before it officially concludes. Her return would mean crossing paths with her ex-lover. Rumor has it that the two already had a reunion and it wasn't really a pleasant one. It was reportedly awkward for the two during the table read of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8.

But with the production for the current season ongoing, it cannot be avoided that the two will meet again. FX News Call detailed that the two stars already saw each other face to face but they snubbed each other during the table read. Awkwardness was visible though because their lines were supposed to be romantic.

It's unclear what the reason is but reports said that it has something to do with Somerhalder's wife, Nikki Reed. The "Twilight" star is allegedly against the reunion of Dobrev and her husband. But then again, Dobrev and Somerhalder were never really in good terms when they parted. A report said that they never kept a civil relationship after they ended their relationship.

Reports also said that Somerhalder expressed his lack of interest in having Dobrev back on the show. Rumor has it that Dobrev will only stir up some trouble in Somerhalder's marriage because his wife is jealous of the Bulgarian-Canadian actress.

However, nothing has been confirmed so the said table read reunion remains nothing but a rumor. Dobrev's return to "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 is still not 100 percent sure even up til now.
