With Intel's recent unveiling of the highly anticipated Kaby Lake Processors during the Consumers Electronics Show (CES) 2017, many tech enthusiasts now expect that the Apple will be launching a new iteration of their iMac — equipped with Intel's latest chipset — sometime in the second half of 2017.

As reported by Yibada, the Kaby Lake chipsets still have no official delivery schedule, and this could hamper the release date of the rumored iMac 2017 and the new MacBook Pro. Among the many variants of the chipset, the S and Y-Series will reportedly be used for the iMac, while the MacBook Pro will be equipped with the H and U-Series.

The last time Apple launched an iteration of their hybrid computer product was two years ago. As for the existing iMac model, its only remarkable feature is the 5K Retina display for the device's 27-inch variant. Hence, to catch up with the advances made by its rivals (like the Microsoft Surface series), it has become imperative for the Cupertino-based company to produce a new and improved version of the hybrid computer.

According to PC Advisor, speculations and leaks have suggested that the rumored iMac 2017 will have a 27-inch 5K display, 32GB of memory, and a 2TB Fusion Drive. For its graphics solution, Apple may turn to AMD's Polaris 10. This new graphics chip offers improved graphics performance and potential reductions in power consumption. More importantly, it could finally bring VR potential to the iMac 2017.

As for the possible price of the rumored iMac 2017, Apply may launch the product at the price tag of $3,199.99. There are also speculations that the iMac will also be given a Pro treatment, which could prove to be the perfect replacement for the Mac Pro.

Given the anticipation over the arrival of more Apple products this year, Apple supporters and tech enthusiasts can expect that more details about the rumored Apple iMac 2017 will likely be revealed in the near future.
