'Injustice 2' release date rumors: NetherRealm Studios to announce several DC characters including 'The Joker' and 'The Flash'?
Fans of the fighting video game based on the fictional universe of DC Comics, "Injustice," now have something to get excited about following a report suggesting that game developer NetherRealm Studios will reveal concrete details about the second installment of the game. According to the latest reports, the highly anticipated "Injustice 2" will feature new characters from DC. The sequel is also said to make it at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con or SDCC 2016 event.
It is definitely going to be an exciting end of July for "Injustice" players. The SDCC event will kick off on July 21 and NetherRealm Studios is expected to reveal the characters during the company's presser. According to the report, the panel during the event will feature Ed Boon, the creator of "Mortal Combat, author Tom Taylor and actors Laura Bailey, Phil LaMarr and George Newborn.
According to EventHubs , Boon teased fans about the two exciting characters that are expected to make it in "Injustice 2." The publication added that two classic storylines from DC were cited by Boon, "The Killing Joke" from the "Batman" and "Flashpoint" from "The Flash."
There are speculations suggesting that The Joker and Barbara Gordon or Batgirl could make to the sequel. The two characters were included in the playable list in the first installment. On the other hand, "Flashpoint" might feature The Flash, Reverse-Flash, Cyborg, Shazam, Wonder Woman and Booster Gold.
In a report by Game Informer, Boon hinted that "Injustice 2" might feature another guest character.
"I always think there's a novelty to it and there's a certain amount of people who think that when they see a guest character that it took the slot of a DC character that they wanted to have," Boon explained. "But you know, Scorpion in Injustice was the most downloaded of all the characters. There was a coolness and a novelty factor to seeing the mixing of the things. Alien and Predator in Mortal Kombat X were the most downloaded of those, so I would be surprised if we didn't do any of that [in Injustice 2]."
