iOS 10.3 rumors: rumored Theater Mode receives negative reception from cinema owners
Apple is slated to release a new iOS 10.2 update, but the new mobile operating system (OS) is rumored to come out with a revolutionary addition called the Theater Mode.
The speculations about the new iOS feature have been leaked by the consistent Apple hardware tipster Sonny Dickson through his Twitter account, saying that the rumored Theater Mode will be accessible on Apple devices through a "popcorn-shaped" icon that will be visible through its Control Center.
While the leaked information did not reveal what the Theater Mode will bring, The Sun stated that there are reports claiming that it will be a new way to dim the lights and mute the audio and notifications on the Apple devices with a single touch. This could be beneficial for users who will spend some time inside the theaters.
However, Polygon reported that theater owners are not fond of the rumored new iOS 10.3 feature.
"If this enhancement turns out to be a means to make it easier to text in cinemas, I may have to book a ticket to Cupertino and pack my can of whoop-ass," Alamo Drafthouse theater chain founder Tim League said in a statement that was reported by Polygon. "I have confidence, however, that a fellow Tim would not make such a mistake."
Dickson also claims that the first beta for the rumored iOS 10.3 might be released by the Cupertino-based tech giant on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
Apple has yet to confirm if the news about the speculated Theater Mode of the iOS 10.3 is accurate, but News.com.au claims that iOS owners are also expecting to see a solution to the 30 percent battery drainage bug that has been bothering the iPhone 5 and iPhone 6s devices.
The tech giant is expected to break its silence about the rumored iOS 10.3 operating system before the said release date next week.
