It looks like there is another team on the block taking a crack at a new jailbreak tool for the iOS 10.2, if the latest reports are anything to go by.

Stefan Esser, who is known for his contributions in the jailbreaking world, took to Twitter to reveal that "the iOS 10.2 jailbreak is about to hit soon."

Should this come to pass, this jailbreak tool should give hope to jailbreak fans who did not get a chance to make use of the iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak that Italian developer Luca Todesco released not too long ago. This purported iOS 10.2 jailbreak might also be the software that fans, who chose to stay with the iOS 9.3.3 even in the face of Todesco's jailbreak release, have been waiting for. Todesco's iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak was semi-untethered and is in beta form so jumping to it had its own set of risks including its instability and the need to re-jailbreak every time a device it is installed in reboots. The iOS 10.2 is current signed and will be that way in the weeks to come so Forbes believes that the jailbreak for it should arrive within that time, that is if Esser's statements are to be believed. As for the team responsible for the supposed jailbreak tool, Esser said that they are likely keeping things low-profile with Todesco's jailbreak still talk of the town and

As for the team responsible for the supposed jailbreak tool, Esser said that they are likely keeping things low-profile with Todesco's jailbreak still the talk of the town and complaints about it are still coming and going. Speaking of the Italian developer, he said on Twitter that an iOS 10.2 jailbreak is not on the table, at least for him. "A jailbreak for 10.2 is not planned," he tweeted out. "But it is still [vulnerable] to the underlying technique used, so it's the second best fw," he went on to say.

As for the iOS 10 jailbreak from Chinese jailbreak development team Pangu, their silence has had many losing hope it will see the light of day. This may have also led to other developers stepping up to provide the software.
