iPad Mini 5 release date, news, specs rumors: Will the next iPad Mini be the mini version iPad Pro?
It has been quite a while since Apple released the current iteration of the iPad Mini tablet. The iPad Mini 4 boasts impressive specs and features for such a handy size, and the iPad followers are wondering if the Cupertino-based tech company will further enhance the features of this device with the release of the iPad Mini 5 in the coming months. Apple has not yet revealed the details regarding their next batch of iPad devices, although the rumors are rife that the huge iPad unveiling will happen in the early months of 2017.
The recently concluded Apple Event last October showcased the newly refreshed MacBook Pro, although there were other participants who tuned in to the event hoping to see the revamped iPad models, including the iPad Mini 5. According to Game N Guide, the said Apple hardware event might just be focused on the MacBook lineup of the company, and Apple may have scheduled a separate event for the new iPad early 2017.
However, according to the latest rumors, the next lineup of iPad devices might not include the iPad Mini 5. PC Advisor noted that there is a possibility of Apple ending the iPad Mini series. It is rumored that the iPad Mini 4 would be the last from the Mini series, and if ever the company would release the iPad Mini 5 or any other mini iPad device, it might be the mini version of the current iPad Pro. Furthermore, the mini iPad Pro would be around 7.9 inches in length.
Nevertheless, there is still hope that the iPad Mini 5 will still be released by Apple in the near future. According to Mobile N Apps, the next iPad Mini 5 will be powered by Apple's latest A10 chipset, more powerful than the current iPhone and iPad devices with A9 processors. It is expected to have at least 2GB RAM and internal storage capacity ranging from 64GB to 128GB, depending on the variant. Like the iPhone 7, the iPad Mini 5 may also lose the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack.
