iPad Mini 5 specs, price and release date update: tablet may be launched alongside iPad Pro 2; three variants expected
iPad Mini 5 is still considered a rumor since Apple has not been giving any announcement about it. Despite this, many hopefuls believe that it will come soon considering that the iPad line has not been given any attention by the company lately.
Enthusiasts believe that the rumored tablet will be out on March 2017 at a certain keynote event. MacWorld reported that iPad Mini 5 may be called iPad Pro Mini instead. While Apple has been keeping everyone under wraps, some believe that the long wait may be worth it as the anticipated tablet may be applied with advanced features, which is why its development has been taking some time.
Others believe that Apple already has a tablet ready to be launched, but it is just waiting for the right time to do so. The market for tablets is apparently slowing down due to the presence of phablets. Consumers would opt for a tablet-phone device rather than just a simple tablet.
PC Advisor wrote that the iPad Mini 5 will come out alongside iPad Pro 2, in which the latter will come in three size variants — 9.7-inch, 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch display sizes. This somehow coincides with the prediction of Ming-Chi Kuo, who also noted that the iPad Mini 5 will have almost the same specs with the iPad Pro 2. The Mini 5 may have three variants: 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB of built-in memory. The rumored tablet may also come with an 8-megapixel (MP) rear camera, a 1.2 MP front camera and an iOS 11 OS.
The Cupertino-based tech company may be ditching the 16 GB internal space option since iPad Mini 5 will have a 128 GB version. Even its design is being rumored — specifically about how it is comparable with iPhone 6's aluminum shell.
Some say that iPad Mini 5 will be repositioned as the introductory model, thus it will have an A9X chipset, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.
Still, no confirmation has been out yet so everything has to be taken with a pinch of salt.
