iPad Pro 2 release date, news, specs rumors: New iPad Pro model gets 2017 release date?
All eyes are now on the upcoming Apple hardware event on Oct. 27, which may finally reveal the new look of the iPad Pro.
Many iPad followers tuned it to last September's huge Apple Event to check whether the Cupertino-based tech giant would finally unveil the latest iterations of the current iPad models. Unfortunately, the event focused on the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones, not leaving any moment to possibly introduce a new iPad device. Nevertheless, there is still hope that the much awaited iPad refresh will happen very soon.
According to Game N Guide, it is likely that the public will see new iPad devices before the year ends. As of now, only the Oct. 27 Apple Event is the confirmed event from the company before the end of 2016. Also, the rumors are rife that the said event will be focused on the new Macbook models this time around, and just like what happened in the Apple Event last month, the iPad Pro 2 might not be mentioned.
Nevertheless, it is getting more likely that the iPad Pro 2 will be released very soon. As reported by HNGN, Apple will be releasing up to three new variants of iPad, either late this 2016 or early 2017. The new iPad models include 9.7-inch size variant, the regular 10.5-inch tablet, and the larger 12.9-inch model. It is likely that one of these variants will be the regular iPad Pro 2 model. Aside from the iPad Pro refresh, the public is also expecting for the next iPad Mini and iPad Air iterations.
Know Your Mobile reported that the iPad Pro 2 may boast the A9X processor, the same chipset used in the new iPhone 7 smartphones. However, there is a chance that the iPad Pro 2 will be powered by the new A10X chipset, thus having a promise of faster performance compared to its predecessors, amounting up to 20 percent increase.
The iPad Pro 2 is also expected to sport a 12 MP rear camera and 5 MP front or selfie camera, plus 5K display feature with a screen resolution of 5120 x 2880 pixels.
