iPad Pro 2015 Release Date, Specs: Leaks Point Towards Bigger Tablet
iPad sales have fallen steadily over the years and many now assume that Apple will drastically redesign the line in an attempt to boost the tablet's popularity. With Microsoft bringing out the popular Surface Pro 3, there are rumors that Apple will likewise bring out the iPad Pro.
The latest rumor about the iPad Pro is that it could measure anywhere between 12.2 to 12.9 inches.
Apple may not have decided yet on the final size of the tablet but it is expected to be huge and targeted at industrial customers. Several rumors about the name of the tablet have also cropped up, with one of them saying it could be dubbed the iPad Air Plus.
The new tablet could closely resemble the iPad Air 2 in terms of features and design. It may also come with almost nonexistent bezels and a metal unibody chassis that is super thin.
As for specs, rumors say the upcoming tablet could have around 2GB of RAM, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Touch ID. The opinions of speculators are divided as to whether the iPad Pro will have the A8X processor, which is currently on the iPad Air 2, or the brand-new A9 processor.
The display on the iPad Pro is apparently where Apple will focus most of its attention. This rumor emanated from the company's suppliers who have indicated that they plan to start production of a 12.9 Retina display for the iPad Pro. If this rumor turns out to be true, the upcoming tablet's Retina display will have ultra high definition.
As for the tablet's release date, the general view is that Apple will abandon its traditional release date for its latest iPad and shift it from the fall to somewhere in April or June of 2015.
