iPhone 6 Plus vs HTC One M9 Specs Comparison: Features and Price Review - Bigger Does Not Mean Better

The iPhone 6 Plus might still be enjoying brisk sales, but with newer and better looking devices like the HTC One M9 entering the market, the device from Apple may soon be toppled from its top spot.

Design

HTC ensured that the One M9 has great design just like its predecessor, the M8. It comes with a aluminum unibody which is hand-polished. However, the design of the phone is very much like the M8 in most aspects and only differs in color as the M9 has four beautiful color options – dual toned rose gold and silver, amber gold, pink, and gunmetal. As for the iPhone 6 Plus, it has a premium look and feel, thanks to its aluminum body and rounded edges. However, Apple failed to provide a good grip on its phablet's back panel, which means it is prone to slipping.

Display

The iPhone 6 Plus has a bigger 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch. Compared to this, the One M9 has a super LCD3 screen measuring 5.0 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 441pixels per inch.

Specs

The One M9 is newer than the iPhone 6 Plus, having been released just early this month. As such it has better specs and could even be faster than the iPhone 6 Plus. Inside the One M9 is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, a CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz, and an Adreno 430 GPU. The iPhone 6 Plus, which was released about six months ago, has an Apple A8 chipset, a dual-core 1.4 GHz Cyclone CPU and a PowerVR GX6450 GPU.

Memory

A big difference between the two devices lies in their memory slots, as the iPhone 6 Plus does not have one while the One M9's version can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage. In terms of RAM, the iPhone 6 Plus, in spite of being a phablet, only has 1 GB while the One M9 has 3 GB.

Price

The 16 GB iPhone 6 Plus costs $299 with a two-year contract and $749 without one, while the HTC One M9 in its unlocked state costs $649.
