Apple is reportedly making major upgrades of its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones, improving the cameras to 12 megapixels and boosting their RAM to 2GB among other planned enhancements for the new iPhone, which will be either the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, or the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

The information was leaked by an analyst who provided extremely accurate information in the past about upcoming iPhone models.

The report on the leak was published in Apple Insider after it got a copy of research notes presented by Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst working for KGI Securities.

In his notes, Ming indicated that the upcoming Apple devices will retain their screen size: 4.7 inches for the iPhone 6, and 5.5 inches for the iPhone 6 Plus, two smartphones released last year.

Additionally, the upcoming devices will have Force Touch technology which will provide more inputs methods and help in the capture of signatures.

Both phones will come with an A9 processor. This is a major upgrade as Apple has always used 1 GB RAM on its iPhone offering since the launch of the iPhone 5.

Ming indicated that Apple is considering the inclusion of a built-in SIM on the upcoming iPhones. This proprietary SIM has already been used on iPads; hence, it won't be a surprise if it is brought to the iPhone lineup.

Ming also revealed that the upcoming iPhone models will not include a smaller 4-inch phone and that the Touch ID sensor would be refashioned to give users a better experience when using Apple Pay.

Moreover, he said the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will have a rose gold casing, similar to the Apple Watch Edition, which is colored rose gold.

Apple is also considering the use of scratch-resistant sapphire glass, but a decision on this will depend on whether the devices pass the drop tests.

Apple will also be putting an additional microphone on the devices and coming out with more durable casings to prevent the phones from bending easily.
