iPhone 7 release date, specs rumors 2016: Apple to introduce wireless earbuds with unveiling of newest iPhone this September
If the latest rumors are anything to go by, the next iteration of the iPhone is going to feature a wireless earpiece for the first time. It is said to get rid of the traditional 3.5-mm headphone jack and replace it with a new technology to enable wireless earphone function. This technology is expected to be a new Bluetooth chip that will be introduced by Apple to the public when the iPhone 7 is unveiled this September.
As reported by CultofMac, Apple has been developing a custom low-power Bluetooth chip specially for wireless earbuds that will enable wireless earbuds. It is expected that this Bluetooth chip will make its debut this Fall as the iPhone 7 will be unveiled at the next big event of the Cupertino-based tech giant.
Forbes reported that the wireless earbuds feature of the iPhone 7 will introduce an improvement on limited battery capacity, which is the usual issue for other Bluetooth headphones. This Bluetooth chip technology was originally developed by the tech company previously absorbed by Apple back in 2013, the Passif Semiconductor.
Meanwhile, Evan Blass, a known and reputable industry blogger, has posted an update regarding the iPhone 7 on his Twitter account. He is known to be a reliable mobile phone leaker for the past several years, and with his latest revelations, many believe that the iPhone 7 is really coming this September.
9to5Mac reported Blass suggesting that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be unveiled by Apple around Sept. 12, with the units going on sale starting on Sept. 16. With this, it is expected that the pre-ordering period for the new iPhone 7 units will be a few days before its launch. This will fall on the first week of September.
Many people are very careful in reading the recent rumors and speculations online regarding the iPhone 7, although Blass already has the record of leaking information from a still unreleased gadget. He even revealed the codenames of the new iPhone 7 units, namely "Sonora" and "Dos," MacRumors reported.
