'iZombie' season 3 spoilers news: Liv as dominatrix? Cast tease details about upcoming season
Production for "iZombie" season 3 is well underway, and while there is no definite air date for the series yet, its cast members eagerly shared details during the San Diego Comic-Con. First thing Rose McIver shared was the "conflict" her character would face.
TV Line was there during "iZombie's" panel at the SDCC, and there, the cast members dished on the upcoming season's plot and characters. According to McIver who plays Liv, her character would be facing conflicts brought about by Vivian Stoll's (Andrea Savage) Fillmore Graves, a military operation consisting of zombies. Apparently, Liv would have a bad feeling about the group.
It appears Liv isn't too familiar with this bunch of zombies, so entertaining Vivian's invitation to join her in her quest would be conflicting for Liv since she can't decide from the get-go if she's Team Zombie or Team Humanity.
Executive producer Rob Thomas further shared that Liv and her friends would try to discover what Vivian is planning and what the impending zombie apocalypse would mean. As TV Line noted, the Fillmore Graves would be at the core of the upcoming season's plot, and at the same time, Liv's team would face stranger zombies as the series goes deeper into the season.
The season would also see Liv eating the brains of a dominatrix, and since "iZombie" zombies typically adopt the traits of the victims' brains they eat, it would be a joy to see Liv showing off her traits as a dominatrix in future episodes of "iZombie" season 3.
In related news, Thomas revealed that the third installment of "iZombie" would only have 13 episodes. This is six episodes shorter than season 2's 19 episodes.
"This year we know there are going to be 13 episodes, which is much easier to plan when they sort of give you a number," Design & Trend quoted Thomas as saying. "Last year it was going to be variable, and so it's hard to plan out those last few episodes. We sort of jammed nine episodes worth of story into our final six last year when we found out we were doing 19. So this year, we know, we've got a plan, and it should feel like a new 'iZombie' story."
He also confirmed that Liv, Major (Robert Buckley), and Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) would be wrapped up in the world of Fillmore Graves, perhaps in their efforts to stop Vivian from making Seattle the "zombie capital" of America.
"iZombie" season 3 will debut at midseason on The CW.
