The CW has announced that "iZombie" season 3 will premiere on Tuesday, Apr. 4, 2017 at 8 p.m. EDT, almost a year after the second season ended.

The zombie drama was one of the shows that were moved to the midseason lineup of the network because the fall schedule was full.

The good thing is that "iZombie" season 3 will have a special two-hour premiere, which should help fans get by the long wait for the show's highly-anticipated return.

Filming for the new season is still underway and according to a Twitter post by cast member Rahul Kohli, they are on working on episode 10.

In "iZombie" season 3, Vivian (Andrea Savage) will push through her plans to make Seattle the zombie capital of the world and will even attempt to convince Liv (Rose McIver) to be part of her crusade.

Vivian may not get help from her, but she might from her brother-in-law, Chase Graves, to be played by "Veronica Mars" alum Justin Dohring.

The character is a member of the Fillmore Graves hierarchy although it is yet to be revealed how exactly he will be involved in the matter or whose side he will be on in "iZombie" season 3.

"Good Luck Charlie" alum Andrew Caldwell will also join the new season to play Harley Jones, a "good ole boy" as per the official character description, who also happens to be an anti-government extremist who loves his guns.

What he loves more than his guns is using them to shoot the zombies on his bucket list. He practices his aim with zombie targets too.

With regards to Liv's love life, she will have a new boyfriend in "iZombie" season 3, one that will not meet the tragic fate of her exes. She will also be haunted by one of them—Drake (Greg Finley).
