'Jane the Virgin' season 3 episode 7 spoilers: Rogelio mends his broken heart as Rafael remembers his mother

"Jane the Virgin" hits its midseason finale next week, and with a few game-changing revelations in store, it promises to be an episode to watch out for.

In the previous episode, Rogelio (Jamie Camil) finally mustered up the courage to confess his lingering feelings for his ex-flame, Xo (Andrea Navedo). At the last minute, he chickened out again when he saw her kissing Bruce (Ricardo Chavira), her newly divorced ex whose law office happened to be right next to her soon-to-be opened dance studio.

In the show's final episode for 2016, Rogelio nurses his broken heart by hiring a matchmaker to help him get back into the dating scene and meet some very interesting women who could hopefully take his mind off Xo. Will his plan succeed, or will it only make him realize how much he will be losing if he gives up on Xo? This episode preview seems to hint at the latter possibility. Will the upcoming midseason finale witness a one-sided confession from Rogelio, or a heartwarming reconciliation between the titular character's parents?

Meanwhile, Jane (Gina Rodriguez) decides to go to church after her abuela Alba (Ivonne Coll) made her feel guilty for not attending mass anymore. She wants to bring her son Mateo (Baby Adam) along even if it goes against Rafael's (Justin Baldoni) wishes.

Meanwhile, Jane's babydaddy gets caught in some issues of his own when he manages to unlock a long lost memory about his mother, which could potentially move the investigations into the Mutter case forward.

Rafael has also begun dating Jane's cousin, Catalina (Sofia Pernas), who seems to have some secret agenda of her own. She is just about to wear out her welcome at Jane and Michael's (Brett Dier) new home. Will this cause more tension to arise between the three key players of the series?

In other news, actress Elisabeth Rohm has just been cast in the major recurring role of a soft-spoken guru named Eileen, who is dating Rafael's sister, Luisa (Yara Martinez), according to Deadline. She will be appearing in future episodes of the hit dramedy series.
